If you currently write for an online writing site(s) or if you are contemplating on writing online there are some very important truths that you need to be aware of. Many writers begin out strong but eventually become discouraged and discontinue writing simply because they are ignorant about the particulars of online writing. Here are some useful tips for potential and current online writers.
Tip 1
~Don’t anticipate to get rich
First and foremost, don’t anticipate to get rich overnight or in the weeks to come. In fact, you might never get rich by writing online. The truth is…it will take weeks before you even see and/or obtain earnings for your writings. Even the ideal writings pieces don’t acquire right away. It takes time for your articles to saturate or to even get noticed by viewers. You should also keep in mind that apiece site differs in how they compensate their writers.
Tip 2
~Money should not be your main motivation for writing
Of course you should be somewhat motivated by money but if money is your main motivation for wanting to write online…I can surely tell you that you will be very disappointed at the earnings you will receive for your work initially. In order to thrive in this business, your passion for writing should prevail over your earnings expectations…
Tip 3
~Earnings can fluctuate
Keep in mind that your earnings can vary from time to time…depending upon several factors. For one, if you have writings online that are seasonal (e.g. Christmas, Halloween, Easter, etc.) you might receive countless views during that particular season but will see a decline in views after the season. Another reason could be that you will not get many views when submitting a new article but hopefully you will see an increase in views over a period of time. And yet another fact is that you will discover that people will find your writings interesting one moment but that could change over night. The point being…more views can finally increase your earning potential and fewer views can decrease your earnings.
Tip 4
~Must have a passion for writing
Aforementioned…you must have a passion for writing if you anticipate to do well. You should continue to write and submit your articles and other content even though you have attained very tiny or no earnings at all. Be assured that if you continue to write and submit calibre content and useful information you will eventually see a significant increase in your earnings over time…
Tip 5
~Must write useful information
You might not get rich in this business but you can increase your earning potential by writing and submitting useful information. Make sure that you write material that will attract the attention of your intended audience. You should also keep in mind that poorly written material will unsurprisingly go unnoticed by those surfing the World wide web for useful information.
Tip 6
~Must have a desire to share your knowledge
And last, you should be willing to share your knowledge with those who need it. There are individuals who demand the knowledge that you possess and need your help. Don’t let initial low earnings discourage and deter you from helping someone who seeks what you have to offer. But be quick to share your knowledge and skills with others instead. Happy writing!
Additional Tips:
* Always proof read and critique your work before submitting
* Use titles that will grab the attention of your readers
* Learn SEO and how to incorporate key words into your writings to increase views
* Use social bookmarking to help promote your articles

One of the things that you should place in mind on how to instruct English online is to be aware that English has aspects that give non-native speakers a very tough time learning it. Most often, the things that your students find most difficult to learn are those that come very easily to native speakers. Two of the most important issues that you should address when teaching English online is knowing what appropriate English is and identifying the major problems that online ESL learners encounter with the English vocabulary.
“What is Appropriate English?”
A lot of people believe that mastering English is a matter of following a fixed set of rules. However, this is not true. Becoming a good English speaker begins with one question: “What is appropriate English?” You might be surprised to find out that the answers depend on certain factors, such as:
1. The relationship of one speaker to another. For example, friends talk with one another quite differently than bosses do with their employees.
2. The situation when communication takes place. For example, the communication between two persons and the level of information that they exchange are somewhat different when speaking over the phone than when speaking face-to-face.
3. The topic. For example, you are more humorous when telling jokes while you are more serious when lecturing in front of a class.
When teaching English online, it is important to set specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) teaching objectives. This is one key to helping your students achieve their goals.
For example, your students are hot to learn how to converse with a income assistant when asking for help in a department store. For your part, instruct them the proper way to address a mortal so they could get the help they need without making them look rude, stupid, nor snobbish.
Most of the time, instructors tend to instruct students to converse in a style that is rather too formal for most of the situations that they will encounter. Try to do away with this common fault. Tell them they could use contractions, like I’m, he’s, they’re, and you’re, most of the time, except in very formal occasions.
Problems with Vocabulary
ESL learners usually encounter varying problems with vocabulary, depending on their native language background. There are languages where words are similar in sound and meaning to English words. We call these cognate words. You can use these words in honing your students’ English vocabulary since non-native speakers find these words easiest to learn.
Learning and understanding words easily, students should get acquainted with:
1. Their meaning;
2. Their uses;
3. The situations where they are most frequently used; and
4. The social consequences of their use. For example, saying “go” has different social consequences than saying, “Please leave.” To make sure that students comprehend each aspect of the vocabulary, use words in realistic situations. The clearer and more familiar the situation is, the easier they’ll comprehend the meaning of the word.

So you would like to write a children’s book. Before you begin, you should know what a competitive field you are about to enter. It is a misconception among writers that it’s easy to write a children’s book, and be successful. The truth is there are thousands of writers with the same goal. They come from all backgrounds and levels of writing skill. Don’t let this deter you from writing a children’s book, but you should treat it just as you would treat any professional goal: responsibly, and prepared.
If you are truly serious about becoming a children’s author then you need to get into it as seriously as if you were writing the next greatest novel. Again, you need to be passionate about what you are writing.
Here are the things that will help you when writing a children’s book:
Research the Market
Before you start, you should research the children’s book market. Look at what types of books are on the shelves, and what you are interested in writing. See what is selling and speak to book professionals about what is successful in the market.
Read Good Children’s Literature
It is an excellent intent to read as much literature as you can. Without taking time to learn what kids are reading today, you will be writing a book that will simply collect dust.
Talk to Booksellers and Librarians
Both booksellers and librarians can tell you what books see the most traffic, and they can also tell you what children’s books have had public readings recently – and how well attended they were. Booksellers can give you straightforward information on what children’s titles are selling the best. Visit libraries and ask librarians about the type of books that kids love to read. Borrow and read these books so that you can have an intent of how to write your own book.
Types of Children’s Book
It might surprise you how much variety there is in children’s literature. It would be a mistake to adopt that the success of the Harry Potter books, for instance, means that the children’s bookshelves are full of similar material. In exploring the children’s literature section of the book store, you will see there is no ‘right’ way to write for children. You have the opportunity to find your self-expression and write a children’s book that is uniquely yours.
Many stories carry a moral or message, like protecting the environment or being kind to others. It’s important to be true to the message without letting it dominate the story. Remember, stories are about people, not social issues. For more seasoned readers, you can write a children’s book after a time-tested style, like mystery or sword-and-sorcery. The Hardy Boys mysteries are a good example.
Spend Time With Your Audience
Your ideal resource is the kids themselves especially with the age group you wish to write for. If you want to write a children’s book, you should see firsthand what interests them. Speak to them about what books they select to read, and what their favorites are. Read to kids if you have an opportunity, and notice what gets the most animated reactions from them.
Join a Group of Children’s Book Authors
That is an effective measure of where the public’s interest lies. Tell them you are interested in writing a children’s book, and you will find abundant source of ideas, tips and information in your research.
Research Internet
Go online and find out which children’s book are the most popular. Know what books captured the attention of parents and kids alike.
Spice it with Humor
Make sure you include a lot of humor in your book, because kids just love to laugh.Put yourself in the shoes of a child and let your imagination run wild. The silliest of ideas have proven to be a hit with children.
Use Easy English
Remember to think about who you are writing for. Do not forget you are not writing for college graduates, you are writing for kids. Make your book age appropriate. Unlike adults, kids have different levels of comprehension and these levels vary greatly. You would write differently for a five-year-old than you would for a fourth grader. You might want to cater to a specific reading level. Select your audience before you begin, and be true to that audience. If your writing for young, keep things simple, very simple.
Eye-Catching Cover Design
The cover design must be attractive, along with the fonts incorporated on the book. Larger, bolder fonts are known to be more captivating to children. If your book does not stand out among the thousands on the shelves, you will never manage to make a sale. Go to your local book store and browse the area where your book would be displayed. Take note of the books that stand out to you, and try to figure out why they are more eye-catching than the others.
Proper Planning
Writing a book requires proper planning. Do not begin a book that you will never finish writing. Make sure you have an outline to follow, that you can refer to when you get stuck, so that you will be healthy to reach your goal. Once you have your outline, you might want to begin looking into legalities and copyrights – both to make sure that your intent is yours alone, and to see how much your copyright will cost you.

Even Martians, if there are any, knew that Israel has been kicking Hamas’s a** for the last three weeks. Most news services have carried news of some kind or other recording the events on the ground in the Gaza Strip. Now Israel had been threatening to do this for quite a while with repeated warnings to cease and desist with the rocket launchings that Hamas was perpetrating on an nearly regular basis over 8 years. Consequently while the force was carrying out their operation, against the ‘brave’ resistance, where was Hamas since they were the supposedly elected leaders of their people. The leaders who had promised to liberate their poor downtrodden people from the Israeli yoke?
Truth be told, Hamas was in hiding. Their intrepid leader Haniyeh was in a bunker somewhere directing his militants to disperse themselves among the Gazan population especially schools and hospitals so that they can ensure the highest civilian casualties when Israel struck. Hamas’s defenses, for all their bluster and brave words in the grappling of force warnings, turned out to be a veritable home of cards for as the force marched in Hamas just crumbled away. While shouting about their own bravery they executed this from behind the skirts of their women and schools and hospitals of their children, civilians, and sick. In keeping with warlord-terrorist tradition, their supreme leader Khaled Mashaal, doesn’t even live in the country. He has his operation in Damascus, Syria, operating under their sponsorship and protection.
This is a sponsorship and endorsement that is conveniently ignored by the United Nations in its renewed efforts to blame Israel for each evil that happened. Still no mention is prefabricated of the Geneva conventions all of which have been documented in various reports, that Hamas has contravened. Yet, the ludicrous thing now is that UN officials are proposing to charge the force with war crimes suggesting that Gazan suffering is a direct result of Israeli aggression, no matter to what lengths the force went to ensure civilians were warned. However much the United Nations might have been originally chartered to be a forum for peace, it has become nothing but a mouthpiece for special interest groups, most of whom and rabidly anti-Israel, and anti USA for that matter.
It is time that the blind woke up. Time they looked and actually saw what is going on right before their eyes. The well known saying, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing,” is working in reverse today. Good men burning their energies out pursuing false ideals, while real obvious human issues begin by the wayside. This is seen in society this day where most people just don’t want to get involved in other people’s affairs, or troubles, even if they can see a solution. The UN is on its high horse about the deaths of terrorists in Gaza while at the same time in sub-Saharan Africa Arabs are perpetrating mass murder and a cleansing of their own kind, but this is largely ignored with a “yes yes, we know about that, tut tut.”
Yesterday Iran announced in international news services that they would continue to supply Hamas with arms, saying that it is their ‘right’, in effect, to stockpile rockets and mortars to shoot against Israel. Hamas’s Prime Minister Ishmael Haniyeh announced to the world as well, that Hamas had ‘won’ the war simply by surviving the force assault. Any individual from around the world who can read and see images knows what happened and who prevailed, but then, how can one blame Haniyeh? He is obviously starting to believe the same lies that the Arab Education ministries write in their curricula to indoctrinate their children. For example, Egyptian teens have told me that Egypt showed mercy by allowing the force to return to Israel after the Sinai War. History records that conflict the other way around, but to many Middle Eastern nations the loser simply rewrites history.
Unfortunately, if you repeat the lies enough, people begin believing them, however no matter what we select to believe, the reality is not going to change. What we select to believe is up to us, and if we select to believe contrived untruths and bold visaged lies, then we must live with the consequences. Many good-meaning people rail against the injustices of the world and cry out for the truth to come out, but when the truth that comes is unpalatable to them, then they refuse to recognize it. Some thirty years ago an associate told me that when Christ died on the cross, it did not represent a victory for Satan. His death in fact, gave the evil one such a kick in the teeth that it took him some 600 odd years to recover. He then set about planning how to counter this new movement of Salvation that Christianity had brought to the world.

I was recently asked the folowing question by one of my newsletter readers; “I’d love to see some information about how to instruct in a way that Aspergers kids will absorb. I am particularly interested in rote memory facts such as math, measurements and such. I’d also love more information about teaching basic social skills, manners and social graces.”Aspergers kids will likely have excellent rote memories and often show intense interest in one or two intellectual areas, such as math, transportation, history, or the characters in a TV series. Their fascination is often so intense that they ignore other subjects and just concentrate on their preferred subject. They will learn each fact about their subject and speak about it endlessly. They will adopt that everyone they speak to has the same interest in it that they do and will not be aware if they are boring other people. Even if the child has tiny true understanding of the facts, they will continue their fascination. You can still use this fascination to instruct him or her other subjects. For example, if teaching Aspergers kids about measurement and the child has an interest in trains, you can involve him or her in measuring the length of train tracks or distances airplanes travel on various routes. Many times, using personal and personal games help Aspergers kids to retain existent information. Teaching Aspergers kids with flash cards is often quite successful. Most rote teaching methods meet with success. Many Aspergers kids are great with visual memory. They can memorize things they read or see on charts. Capitalize on this in teaching them most anything. Etiquette and social graces are like a foreign language to Aspergers children. Particular training is required to instruct kids these skills, like looking someone in the eye and saying “Good morning” or “Hi.” Communication specialists and social training groups can instruct these skills to Aspergers children. Imitating and practicing new skills in realistic situations is very effective for Aspergers children. Often, skills’ training includes: * Learning nonverbal behaviors, such as using appropriate hand gestures, smiling, and verbal behaviors * Interpretation of nonverbal behaviors of others
* Processing of visual information with auditory information * Social awarenessAn intent for teaching social skills involves teaching Aspergers kids a specific skill at a time. To apply a specific skill in a variety of situations try this procedure: Selected a skill, such as responding to the question “What’s new?” Instruct the child the question/skill and several doable responses. Explain that there are many ways to respond. Model some appropriate responses. Set up situations that will require practice with the help of friends, family, and school staff Develop a plan for how the questioner will respond if the child answers incorrectly Keep track of the child’s responses to see if he or she can demonstrate the skill consistently Reinforce with lots of praise for the correct answers, especially when correct answers don’t require any promptingThe Aspergers child might form friendships with other kids who share interests, such as computers. Having things in common like math club, science fairs, Star Trek club, etc. can help to assist social interaction. This is a way to build skills that can help a child to “fit in” superior in general. Reinforce these skills at home with role playing. For those that still struggle with this, .
